The next developement of Age of Conan DateTime:9/27/2009 11:20:23 AM The next developement, and a major one at that, was the sudden
resignation of Funcom founder and Age of Conan Game Director Gaute
Godager, after a 16 year run working at Funcom. While the first
responses on the forums were quick to declare the SS Funcom was going
down with the stock price, the general consensus was that this change
was quite possibly a positive direction for Funcom to take. Not long
after the Gaute resignation news, Funcom announced the new Age of Conan
game director would be Craig 'Silirrion' Morrison, who had been
intimately involved with Funcom's Anarchy Online. Craig immediately
began interacting with AoC's player community on the Official Forums,
and the air about the forum began to change from what had been a
stormy, dark clouded ranting pulpit to one of piqued interest with
small glimmers of hope. It is clear that Craig recognizes the need for
more communication between Funcom and it's customers, as he has been
very active on the foums in his first week on the job. Again, it cannot
be stressed how important communication is and will be for Funcom to
earn back and keep the trust of it's playerbase. Craig Morrison so far
seems to be on the right track.
"Great patch, I'm very satisfied. Also the change in Game Director
is a very welcome change IMO. I went from being "on the fence" with
regard to resubbing to resubbing without any hesitation."
