In order to pick up a quest in Age of Conan you typically must speak to a quest-giver NPC or examine an item that will trigger a quest. Once you have accepted the quest you will be able to find it in your Quest Journal.

Some quests will ask you to kill a number of a specific type of mob, while other quests may ask you to perform several tasks before receiving your reward. While most quests are not class specific, there are longer quest lines which are, such as the Destiny Quests in Tortage. After you have completed a quest, return to the NPC quest-giver for your reward. Often completion of a quest will open up a new quest from the same NPC.

Check your Quest Journal often by pressing the "J" key on your keyboard or click the Quest button in the Character Menu at the top of your screen. Your Quest Journal will show your progress and the reward for completion. Quests are split up by zone and time of day, then quest trees show a quest's difficulty sorted by color. Green would symbolize an easy quest, yellow would be intermediate and red would be hard.
