Combo button in Age of Conan

After triggering a combo button, a user interface display pops up onscreen that shows which directional attack keys need to be hit for the attack to successfully trigger. The nice thing is that the system gives you a little bit of leeway as to the actual timing. It's not something like a fighting game where you have to input the sequences with just the right timing to get a move to fire off. Instead, you could input the first directional attack, then trigger a spell and activate a buff, and the combo interface will still be onscreen. Your next attack has to correspond to the next required input in the display for the combo to work, but this kind of freedom to perform other actions while the input sequence is active helps give fights more flexibility. Like, for instance, if you've just killed your target before entering the final directional attack command, you can hold off, turn your character around to another target, then finish the input sequence and make sure the extra damage and special effects don't go to waste. When battling against groups of five or six enemies, managing this system definitely proves to be an entertaining experience.
