AoC - Common with other MMOGs?

We won't have a review posted for quite some time since it's a gigantic game with myriad facets to consider. Over the coming weeks we'll bring you impressions of our experience as we check out the content after level 20, the open-world exploration, free-for-all player-versus-player [PvP] combat, arena PvP, and trade skill systems.

So far we can say that though the game has a lot in common with other MMOGs like World of Warcraft, Age of Conan does manage to feel a little different because of its combat system. While you still need to manage a skill bar, your basic attacks (if you're a melee class) aren't just limited to click to auto-attack. Instead, you need to select which directions you'd prefer to swing your weapon.
