Age of Conan could feature cross-platform action DateTime:9/27/2009 11:20:23 AM
May 15, 2008 - Funcom, the developer of the upcoming Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, is trying to implement PC and Xbox 360 cross-platform play in its anticipated MMORPG, set in author Robert E. Howard's dark universe. While allowing PC players to play with Xbox 360 owners is nothing new, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies is doing this and 2007's release of Shadowrun has done this, it still isn't very popular. Most games avoid cross-platform play due to different control schemes (which would give certain players distinct advantages) and the potential chaos that usually ensues between the different hardware and network configurations. Jorgen Tharaldsen, Funcom's product director, spoke to Videogamer.com and elaborated on the company's ideals to unite PC gamers and Xbox 360 owners together.
