Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures Goes Live

May 20, 2008 - The U.S. servers for Funcom's long-anticipated Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures are now live and, based on our experience so far, things seem to be going fairly well. Launch periods are critical for any massively multiplayer online game, as there are plenty of other alternatives out there. Nobody wants to stick with something that's broken.

While many on various message boards made a big deal about the game's poor graphical performance issues during the beta testing phase, Funcom surprised just about everyone with some last-minute updates and enhancements. The game now, while still glitchy in spots, runs dramatically better and you don't need an amazing gaming PC to see and experience the difference. On some of the lowest graphical settings the game still looks good and runs well on a rig we tried out that would have been considered powerful three years ago.
