Linear- vs. interactive music DateTime:9/27/2009 11:20:23 AM We discussed for a long time whether or not it would be beneficial to make the whole score completely interactive like in previous Funcom titles like Anarchy Online. After a while we decided that for this particular title, we really wanted to use linear music pieces where the emphasis is on the natural development of musical structures more than the almost trance-inducing randomly generated cues based on small musical fragments. This natural approach to music seemed to fit better within the realistic, although fantastic universe of Age Of Conan. The music should give the player the impression that it could have existed in the environments you relate to as a player.
